The Jim Heddle Show on A3Radio.com
Wow! Heddle is slidin' into the 60's.....
Hey Air Aces, Nearly Normal Warren here. I just walked into the studio to find a package from Jim. You never know what he's been brewing up down there in Arizona. I think he lives in a cave, miles off the asphalt where few have ever gone. There, under a sky full of stars, in the presence of coyotes and wolves, in the warmth of a great bonfire, he brings to life his shows. He blends several parts Ann Arbor history with flavors from the 60's, 70's and 80's, the smile of a Gecko and perhaps a pinch of Southwestern music. I hear the only time he goes to town is for Ramen Noodles and to mail his show to us.
What a concoction this package contains. We're going back in time now, deeper and deeper into the 60's, you're getting tired now, you hear the howl of coyotes, you have a great desire to send money to A3Radio.
And here's Jim description of this week's show...
On Forgotten Gold we'll hear the flip side of the Temptations' smash "Ball Of Confusion" which also became a hit, the New Vaudeville Band's follow-up to "Winchester Cathedral," Verdelle Smith's ecological anthem "Tar & Cement," and a hit record by San Francisco disc-jockey Les Crane that was the class song for the Pioneer Class of '72!
And while you're waiting for the next show to play, Jim suggests you read Journey to Ixtlan by Carlos Castaneda.
From our Press Release.....
Jim Heddle started his broadcasting career 27 years ago with WPAG in the studios located at Main and Liberty in Ann Arbor. They say you can’t go home again, but A3radio.com, Ann Arbor’s Internet radio station, is now airing shows hosted by Jim Heddle from those same studios that WPAG and Jim once called home.
Like many others, Jim got his first radio gig with the assistance of the Dean of Ann Arbor broadcasters, when Ted Heusel tipped him off to an opening at WPAG. Jim now lives in Tucson, Arizona and produces the shows at his home studio and sends CDs of the finished shows to A3radio.com.
The Jim Heddle “From the Vault” show airs on A3radio.com with the following schedule:
Monday 11AM Local Music Channel New Show
Tuesday 7PM Cornicopia Channel Rebroadcast
Thursday 7PM Local Music Channel Rebroadcast
Friday 11AM Cornicopia Channel Rebroadcast
In addition to his music collection and memories, Jim draws on old tapes of shows he hosted at WPAG from the late 70’s to the early 80’s complete with a few commercials, news casts, and sport reports. A3radio.com has given Jim a free hand to craft the show as he pleases and Jim has responded by producing a number of variations on the “WPAG Memories” idea.
A3radio.com, now in its third year of broadcasting from the old WPAG studios, offers 12 channels of programming featuring Local Artists, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll, Punk, Electronica, and the only Classical station in Ann Arbor. Anyone can listen from a computer connected to the Internet anywhere in the world. A3radio.com has listeners in Moscow, Toronto, Berlin, Manchester, England, New Zealand and Sweden in addition to its loyal base of listeners in the greater Ann Arbor Area.
